Callum McGregor Convinced Moussa Dembele To Stay

Moussa Dembele

Celtic midfielder, Callum McGregor has been giving advise to Superstar, Moussa Dembele to remain with the Scottish giants to complete another double treble, according to Daily Record.

The central midfielder is convinced that the France forward will be staying put at the Celtic Park for the rest of the season, inspite of the several English and Spanish teams gunning for his signature.

The midfielder went on to claim that he persuaded Dembele to remain at the club so he add another treble to him name in his career. With Brighton & Hove Albion reported to be the leader in the race to sign the French-born forward, who are offering a whooping £20 million for the star, but a deal might not happen due to teammate convincing.

Dembele has been reported to be back to training with the Celts team in Dubai regardless speculations surrounding his future at the club.

McGregor said: “It comes to the point where you are part of a successful team and that’s what you want it to stay like, being successful.

“A lot of players will never win anything in their careers and you have a massive chance here at Celtic to win a lot of trophies, be successful and have that against your name.

“That’s obviously going to be a big draw for players like him (Dembele). It’s just about him wanting to be here to kick on, work hard and be part of this group. Obviously, all the boys love him and want him to stay and to be part of it.

“I don’t think he’ll be thinking of going anywhere. In the main, everyone is focused on being here and I don’t think they are thinking about getting away.

“They just want to keep being successful and staying part of this group. We’re all good lads who want to do well and work hard for each other. That’s important.

“You think back to the Aberdeen game up there where he was unplayable. He looked like a real top player. If we can get him playing like that every week, it’s obviously great for the group going forward and to win things.

“Last season was so special that it brought the boys even closer together. If we can kick on then we could potentially do it again.

“We need the group to stay focused and stay hungry, but when you feel part of a successful team, that’s where you want to stay, you want to keep being successful.

“It’s a special place to be and I think all the boys recognize that.”

As no Scottish league club in history has ever won a back to back trebles, and McGregor reveals that all the team wants it just make themselves a desirable moments for themselves.

He continued: “We’ve just got to keep setting markers for us as a group.

“We’ll be looking to take all the hard work we’re putting in this week into the second half of the season when we go back and we want to really kick on.

“We don’t to mention Trebles and all that again. It would be an incredible achievement.

“I think back to last year and how big an achievement that was, winning the Treble. If we could go and do it again that would be something really special.

“But we can only look at the next game when we’re back.

“The way we got success last season was by preparing properly for every game and taking them as they come. We’ll then see where that takes us.

“We definitely have more to achieve as a group. That’s the key here and how the manager wants to work.

“He’s always striving to be better. Even if we win 3-0, he wants us to win by four or five. That’s just the way he is and it’s transferred over to the players.

“For me there’s more to come and we’re striding on to get better.”

However, Dembele is not the only Celtic player currently linked with a move away from Scotland, as Kierney Tierney , Jozo Sumunovic and Stuart Armstrong also reported to be linked outside the Celtic Park.
