Garry Monk: I am Disappointed to lose to my Former Club

Garry Monk

The Aftermath of the departure of former Leeds coach was dissapointing as Middlebrough was defeated 2-1 by Leeds United in his first encounter with the club.

Garry Monk took to the Middlesbrough official website to say that Boro deserved something better in their clash with his former club, which marks as his first return to the Elland Road.

The former Leeds boss made his first return to the Elland Road with a defeat to his former club, after leaving the club in some surprising manner, with the Leeds board appointing Thomas Christiansen as a replcement to the Middlesbrough manager.

The whites came out victor in the Sunday 2-1 win match, with Christiansen side denying them a point in the game as the Boro kept more pressure in the final 20 minutes of the game winning the most possession at the time, as they failed to deny the Whites the win.

Post-match came with Monk claiming that his side was just somewhat unlucky in their clash, as they couldn’t even manage to acquire themselves apoint in the clash.

Monk said to the club’s official Website: “We’re disappointed to lose, I think we deserved more today, I think it’s the fine margins because we started both halves reasonably well and the goals came straight after.”

There will be a lot of football fans, who will disagree wih what Monk said as there only goal was granted to them through a penalty. Although Middlesbrough team did drop an excellent performances in the game, but the Leeds were very quick and were more in control of the game than the visitors.

The Boro team got back into the game after finding that penalty equaliser, which gave them a bit of an edge throughout the game, but the host were more deadly.

With this performance against former team, Garry Monk abilities of a manager could be questioned by the Middlesbrough board after failing to even share points with his former club.
