Benfica star, Oliver Sarkic, will be set to be going out on loan to Championship side Leeds United, which was later confirmed and announces during the week.
The Championship took to their Official Website page to announce that the Benfica youngster had agreed deal to join the Whites on a short-term deal – a deal that would be ending by December 2017.
The 20-year-old will be joining up with the Whites development squad and as he becomes the latest of the bright future of Europe added to the U-23 squad of the Yorkshire giants in the space of some months.
Sarkic, who seems to be happy with the signing and with his new club, has splashed praises of how big and large his new club, in spite of coming from a Champions League side.
The Youngster took to his official Twitter page to write: “So excited to start this journey with such a massive club. Can’t wait to wear the shirt.”
The Signing of Sarkic from the Portuguese side on a short term loan is a very unfamiliar thing for the Yorkshire giants, as they already posses a strong development squad for themselves. And a loan for a player you drop to the U-23 team is a bit strange in history of Football.
Benfica has been known for their abilities to produce and nursing of Europe’s future prospect. With the 20-year-old not being able to break into the first team of the Portuguese club is quite disturbing, as he might just not be getting himself an appearance as well with Leeds United senior team.
Or this could just be a coy for Sarkic to announce himself to other English Championship sides, and get himself a good game time with some senior team.
