Man City News: Sergio Aguero Set to Miss Chelsea Clash

Premier League Star, Sergio Aguero has been reported to have acquired an injury when returning from an Argentina Taxi which crashed in Amsterdam on Thursday. The Citizens manager, has confirmed that the Argentine International will be missing out on the Premier League match against rivals Chelsea and the World Cup qualifiers in October.

The Club took to their official website, and wrote: “Sergio Agüero will be assessed by club doctors today [Friday] after being involved in a road accident on Thursday. The City forward was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries. He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash at Chelsea.”

The Citizen forward said to Argentine Radio: “The taxi driver did not see the curve and skid. And when he skidded, we hit him with the pole.

“I broke my rib, now I’m resting. It hurts me badly. I’ll be discharged in a little while.”

The Blues boss, was not quickly informed over the availability of the centre forward when they get sidelined for an injury, and claimed he has no problems over his players spending their time abroad.

“The first impression is he has broken a rib but the number of days he will be out, I don’t know,” Guardiola said. “A day off is to be happy … I am a trainer who doesn’t want to train every day because [the players] need to rest, mentally and physically.”

Aguero, will be second player to be sidelined in the City team as summer signing Benjamin Mendy, also acquired an injury which will see him unfit for some months over a knee ligament injury.

The Citizens boss, revealed that the France International will not getting a game till the Semi-finals of the Champions League, which will be April 24-25, if only the English club reach that level.

Man City will be playing the title defenders Chelsea during the Weekend, after being defeat by the same club home and away last season, Guardiola will be looking to win the game on Saturday, but with recent setbacks one could only hope.

Aguero’s first club Independiente also confirmed the injury of their former player, as they tweeted: “Strength and prompt recovery. Everyone @ Independiente is with you in this difficult moment.”

The 29-year-old has continued his fine form for the Citizens as he has found the back of the net seven times in eight appearances for the club this season.
