David Hay: Craig Gordon Should be in the Lineup Against Rangers

Craig Gordon

Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic will be facing each other in the Scottish Cup this weekend, in the hopes of proceeding to the final.

Celtic legend, David Hay has recommended that manager Brendan Rodgers should start goalkeeper Craig Gordon in the semi-fianls of the Scottish cup against Rangers.

The Bhoys will be facing their strong league rivals Ranger at the Hampden park on Sunday afternoon.

Gordon, who has been quite impressive for the club, and has been the tagged as the goalkeeper in the league, before getting sidelined for his injury.

However, the former Celts midfielder, David Hay has laid his claims and said that Rodgers should probably start the Soctland International during the weekend game.

Hay said to Evening Times: “As for the goalkeeping situation, if Gordon is fit then I would play him.

“Again, and I know I say this often but if Brendan Rodgers is watching them train day-in, day-out then he will know where they are but it is Gordon’s experience for me in a game like this that would swing it.”

In other news, Gordon speaking about the Sunday game against Rangers said via BBC: “It’s not always about playing your best, it’s about finding a way to win and we’ve done that,”

“It’s up to us to again go out with that attitude and try to win the game.”

The Celtic team will be looking land themselves another treble season as they had done last season.
