The Italian outfits have been rumoured to opened talks with Ajax for the potential signing of their attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech.
According to reports from Goal, Roma are not the only European clubs running in the race to sign the Moroccan midfielder as two English clubs Liverpool and Everton have also joined in the race, but the Giallorossi are the leaders in this race.
The 25-year-old recently revealed his wish to depart with the Dutch club in the summer after a two season spell with the club.
Ziyech said: “From the January transfer window, I have been clear that it was my intention to leave Ajax in the summer.
“However, the situation has to be right at the next club. If that is not the case, then I will stay.”
The report further states that the Moroccan attacker will make a decision about his future after the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia this June with Morocco finally announcing the former Twente star in the 23-man squad for the Tournament.
Since joining Ajax back in the summer of 2016, Hakim Ziyech has been able to bag 19 goals in 81 appearances for a midfielder and will be helping his country Morocco out of the Group stages where they will be facing Portugal, Spain and Iran in the Group B.
