When new players are transfer to the English Premier League at times they have difficulties settling well to the fast pace and playing style in the League, but Brighton and Hove Albion defender Bernardo is apparently not one of them.
The Brazilian, who can be deployed as a midfielder or a defender, was involved in an interview with ESPN Brasil where he revealed his joy of joining the Premier League.
The 23-year-old defender has not kept secret his excitement of joining the Seagulls once again last summer smiling like it has been the biggest hit of his career.
Speaking to João Castelo Branco from ESPN Brasil, Bernardo said: “I liked the team’s project and the achievement of a dream, which was to come to this league.
“My experience was pretty much of any boy watching on Sunday, Saturday morning, turning on ESPN and watching the Premier League, it’s always been that way.”
Being pleased with Brighton project in the Premier League, Bernardo also discloses about his new apartment and how happy he his: “You see that the weather is good compared to the English standard. You have the sea. Close to London, which for me is the best city in Europe. So I guess it could’t be better located.”
The ESPN pundit Castelo Branco got to the interesting part of the interview when he asked Bernardo since moving to his new apartment if he has ever gotten into the beach opposite his house and the player said said;
“Dude, I haven’t dared go in yet. I haven’t. I went to the beach several times with my dog, but I did not have the courage to go in.”
Bernardo will be back in action for Brighton as they will be taking on Southampton in a Monday night football.
