Emmanuel Boateng stars in Levante win against Barcelona

La Liga contenders, Levante welcomed the crowned Spanish Champions, Barcelona, at their own stadium Estadio Ciutat de Valencia and achieved a feat any Spanish club couldn’t do in the La Liga this season.

Levante 5-4 Barcelona: Reports
Following their draw in the El classico match and only two games away(Levante and Real Sociedad) for the Catalonians, most pundits and experts have already tipped the crowned champions to set their own history this season as they have gone season-long without taking a defeat in the league, but that has now been smashed by the Granotas.

Levante has been in a very surprising form since the arrival of their manager Paco Lopez back in March, having won four of their last games to move away from the relegation zone in the La Liga. But since the arrival of the manager, the Granotas have not scored five goals in a single match before. with two goals from Emmanuel Boateng sealing a first half win, but was quickly responded to by Philippe Coutinho‘s shot on goal.

Minutes into the second half of the match, the Frogs spinned three more goals past Barca goalie, Marc-André ter Stegen, with Boateng finally completing his hat trick in the 49th minute and Bardhi scoring a brace in the 56th minute, whih all but sealed the win for home team as a comeback was already in doubt for La Liga Champions.

Ten minutes later, the Catalonians winter signing, Coutinho, was a sparkling difference in the away team as he also bagged himself a hat-trick to close the gap on the home team, which was immediately followed by a penalty awarded to Luis Suarez, who slot it straight to the back of the net.

Chances was missed afterwards but no more goals were added in the match as Barcelona was denied the chance to go through the season unbeaten by Levante.
