Liverpool on the Verge to Land Machester City Youngster

Liverpool are looking to snatch up Steven Gerrard’s cousin, Bobby Duncan from Manchester City academy for a fee reported to be about £200,000.

Bobby Duncan, who has been tipped to be one of the bright future prospect in Europe, arrived at the Etihad Stadium 6 years back, with his current contract with the Citizens set to expire this summer, with no new contract talks in the ropes.

After seeing the talents in which the English youngster possesses, the Citizens had to stop him from playing in the U-18 and U23 team. But the talented fellow refuses to enter into any contract extension with the Citizens.

The 16-year-old quickly rose to stardom, as he shot three goals against Brazil, which made him the first player of his age to do so in an U-17 match during the summer.

Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard has taken up the Managerial role with the Liverpool U-19 team. Gerrard’s presence in the Merseyside, could have had a part to play in his cousin’s decision to leave the Etihad Stadium.

After the departure of their former academy player, Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund last summer, the Citizens will be set for another disappointment as their upcoming striker is on the brink of a move to the Reds.

Duncan was spotted to have been taking some training lessons at Wigan to retain his fitness and strength for a future game, following the decision of the Sky Blues to keep the young striker from training and official football action.

The current Premier League Champions choice to leave Gerrard’s cousin out of football, might just have backfired on them as the 16-year-old will be joining up Liverpool in the summer for a reported fee of £200,000.
