Fulham are planning to make a strong statement in the Premier League this season with their intense activity in the summer transfer window having signed Atletico Madrid’s star Luciano Vietto on a season-long loan contract.
The Madrista could just be what the Cottagers need to spark their entrance to the Premier League after winning their last season EFL Championship playoff finals.
The 24-year-old forward, who joined the Diego Simone team during the summer transfer window in June 2015 for £18m following his impressive performance shown at Villarreal, has struggled for a first team start at Madrid making only 19 league appearances scoring one goal in the process.
During his short spell at Villarreal, Vietto was able to bag 20 goals in 48 appearances for the Spanish club in all competitions in his debut season
In his second season with Europa League winners, the 24-year-old was loaned out to La Liga rivals Sevilla – where he was able to score 10 goals in 30 appearances.
Upon a return from the season-long loan, Vietto was only able to manage six appearances for Atletico last season before being sent out back on loan to Valencia for the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.
“I’m very happy to come to the club and sign. I’m very excited to get started with the team tomorrow,” said Vietto to his new club’s website.
“It’s an important change for me because this is my first experience here in England. I hope to do as well as possible.”
Luciano Vietto was somewhat expected to feature for Diego Simone’s side this season after being included their pre-season squad, but will now be plying his trade in the Premier League with Fulham this 2018/19 campaign.
The Cottagers have already added some big names to their club like, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Jean Michael Seri and Alfie Mawson adding Luciano Vietto to the list is only making their squad stronger.
