Reports emerging from Italian outlet, Calciomercato is claiming that Premier League champions Manchester City are almost at the edge of signing Leicester City star Riyad mahrez for a fee of £75 million.
The Algerian international has been a long-term transfer target for the Etihad, with a failed move occurring back in January winter transfer window that saw the winger missing two matches not turning up for training sessions.
As per report from the Guardian, the Foxes will only accept a deal worth of £75 million for their winger, while Calciomercato reported that both clubs are on the edge of agreeing deal for the Algerian International for a fee much lower.
The 27-year-old attacker has been with no doubt one of the best wingers in the English Top Flight since his club was promoted to the Premier League in 2014. Mahrez has been in a very good form for the Foxes this season, scoring 12 goals and further providing 10 assists.
The Algerian International helped his team win the Premier League title in 2015/16 campaign in their second season competing at the English Top Flight since their promotion from the Championship in 2013.
Pep Guardiola already have the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Bernando Silva upfront in the Etihad Stadium, who have all participated in scoring 93 goals this season.
Should Guardiola add Riyad Mahrez to his fire power upfront, the City’s squad will be about the deadliest in Premier League history.
