Middlesbrough Rebuffed Leeds United bid for Rudy Gestede

Championship side Leeds United are set to table an offer for Middlesbrough forward Rudy Gestede but was said to be £4million short of the Frenchman Valuation of his club.

The reports claims that the Championship club saw a £6million offer rebuffed for the Republic du Benin forward as they are yet to find a replacement for their former player Chris Wood.

Depite the signing of a 19-year-old attacker Jay-Ray Grot, the Whites are still looking to sign another prolific forward to their name. The Championship giants signed the attacker for a reported fee of £750,000 from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, and could rise to £1.5million with adds-ons, according to the reports.

With the huge void left by Chris wood in the firepower, Leeds will be looking to get themselves better replacement if they wish to acknowledge themselves a spot to the Premier League next season.

The Boro star will be the best option available for Leeds, as he could very well lead the team to its glory days, but recent dip in form has raised questions if he could fit in the Peacocks team.

During his spell at Blackburn as a striker, the 28-year-old manage to bag himself 22 goals in 42 appearances in the 2015/16 season.

Middlesbrough coach Gary Monk will not be willing to see the departure of his player as he quickly rose to become one the key figure for the Boros. The Striker has been crucial for the Monk’s team since the begining of Championship season.

Leeds will have to be willing to meet up with the £10million valuation of Gestede to get the attention of the Boros. Should a deal not go through the Whites are left in their possesion £15 million following the sale of Wood to Burnley this season.
