Getting ready for a big match derby in the Premier League, Manchester City are already having injury doubts ahead of the game against Manchester United.
City boss, Pep Guardiola has come out to assess his options and doubts for the derby as key player David Silva could just be missing the game. The Spanish International will not be travelling with the team going for the last Champions League group stage game against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who acquired the injury in his last match against West Ham, will be a major boost for the Red Devils and give them some upper hand in the game and set worries for the Citizens.
Guardiola speaking about Silva, he said: “David had a little problem in the last few minutes [against West Ham on Sunday], We made a test after the game and I don’t know if he will be able to play on Sunday.”
“Before the goal, he felt something and he is not able to play tomorrow against Shakhtar Donetsk. That’s why he has stayed to recover in Manchester. The other players are all here.”
The 31-year-old Spaniard, has been in an awesome form for the Sky Blues this season, and just recently committed himself to Etihad after signing a new 1-year contract extension which will see him at the club till 2020.
The Spanish footballer spell at the Etihad Stadium has seen him win the Premier League twice, three EFL Cups, One FA Cup and One FA Community Shield, in his 8th year with the Blues.
