Premier League Reaching its Final Game and Conclusion

After 37 gameweeks, the 2017-18 Premier League season is finally reaching its conclusion. There is no doubt that neutral fans would have found this season exciting, especially if they’ve been keeping an eye on champions Manchester City who managed to walk away with the title with five games to spare after they convincingly managed to defeat almost everyone who stood in their way. As well as focusing on the Premier League champions, fans who place Premier League bets will also have been keeping a close eye on the relegation battle. Stoke and West Brom have already had their relegation confirmed, but the final relegation spot is still up for grabs. After losing to Southampton the other night, Swansea are the favourites to be relegated as they are now three points away from safety with one game remaining. Their only realistic hope for survival relies on Southampton failing to pick up a single point and losing by a significant amount of goals whilst Swansea record a victory over already relegated Stoke.

Although relegation from the league is always a disappointment for every club involved, three unfortunate clubs have to suffer it every single season. The main disappointment is that the club will be playing in a lower division for at least one season, and it is likely that a number of high profile players will leave the club in order to compete at the highest level as soon as possible. This can obviously weaken the first team playing squad, but it does allow the clubs to find an adequate replacement and can also help sort out their finances with the extra cash available. A lot of these players which leave the club immediately after relegation tend to find themselves back in the Premier League, but tend to be playing for another Premier League relegation favourite. As a result, some players have gone through multiple relegations from the Premier League during their career.
