Bruce exact words were the Spurs are “nowhere near” to agreeing a fee for their highly-rated midfielder Jack.
According to reports sourcing from Sky Sports, the Spurs have been in transfer talks with Villa over the signing of their midfielder using the Villans financial issues as a leverage in the matter since the begining of the transfer window.
Bruce, who has been Aston Villa manager since the summer of 2016, has been dazzled by the arrival of new owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris and led the manager to not allow any of their talented players leave the club for cheap before the transfer window closes on the 9th of August.
Bruce said via Sky Sports: “I don’t think we’ve had a formal bid. There’s been discussions and that’s been going on all summer. The one thing the owners have made pretty clear is that no-one is for sale.
“We don’t want to lose our best players, but they’re aware of course that everyone has their price. The best thing the owners have been able to do is not let anybody go on the cheap.
“So if someone wants to buy our players, they’re going to have to find a premium and make sure the owners are comfortable with it.”
We all know what football is, but at the moment Spurs haven’t got anywhere near what the owners want to consider – so there’s not a discussion to be had at the moment, because they’ve not got anywhere near the figure they demand.”
Jack Grealish was only able to bag three goals in 31 appearances for his club last season.
According to recent reports emerging in the media Chelsea have also entered the race to sign the 22 year old with a couple of other clubs.<!–more–
