Emil Forsberg was reported to angry after RB Leipzig rejected a contract offer from Premier League giants, Arsenal, these are the thoughts of German journalist Raphael Honigstein, as reported by the Sun.
Journalist Honigstein was speaking on Totally Football Show podcast about the prospect of Arsenal chasing down the Swedish International.
He explained: “Forsberg has been in and out of the [RB Leipzig] team with injuries, and they’ve really missed him a lot.
“He is still a guy who really wants to go to the Premier League. He was very upset when Arsenal’s offer was turned down straight away by Leipzig.
“I think [Arsenal] will come back in for him because he has got a lot of talent.”
The Swedish winger, who had sparked interests from all Europe with Arsenal heavily linked to him and desperate to sign him last summer, was reported to be involve in a fight with other members of the club.
The 26-year-old denied all claims saying he fought, and said he’s relationship with his club manager Ralph Hasenhüttl is “great”.
He said to Expressen: “No, I have a great relationship with my coach. I understand there will be speculation when I am not playing, but I am enjoying my time at the club.
“We will continue to write history and aim at winning the Europa League.”
Statistics has seen the Swedish winger to have created 27 goals last season in the Bundesliga. And has added five goals and three assists to his name so far this campaign.
However, should the Gunners return for the winger in the summer, Leipzig will want to do all they can to keep the him at the club for at least another season, or better still try to find themselves a better replacement for him before the summer arrives.
Forsberg is not the star at the Red Bull Arena with futures in the ropes, as defender Dayot Upamecano, forward Timo Werner are currently linked with a move away from the club. With Naby Keita already agreeing a deal to move to Liverpool in the summer next season.
