Being a key in their almost-success of returning to the Premier League last season, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is reported to be on the verge of bringing back John Terry to the Villa Park.
The Chelsea legend was with the Villans last season as they almost gained promotion to the English top flight, only to lose to Fulham in the play-offs final trailing a 1-0 defeat.
Reports claims that former England International left Aston Villa following their financial problems faced during the summer.
Since Villa has now been overtaken by new owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, manager Bruce affection for Terry could see him convince the news owners to sanction a return for the Ex-England defender.
“I am extremely disappointed we’re not in a position to keep John,” Bruce said during the summer. “As you might expect, he was fantastic both on and off the pitch. He will be a massive miss.”
Recently, JT teased a possible return to the Villa Park on his Instagram and many fans already thinks he could be on the verge of returning to the team.
Terry sent his kids to school and posted: “Back to school and back to… for me”
Before leaving the club last season, John Terry said: “I’m very proud to have had the opportunity to play and captain this great and huge club.
“I have given my everything this year both on and off the pitch and I’m still hurting today that we never managed to get back to the Premier League, where this club 100% belongs.
“I would like to thank (manager) Steve Bruce who was instrumental in me joining Villa, I have learnt so much from him as a manager this season that will stay with me forever.”
However, Aston Villa might just have to fight for the signature of the Centre back as interest from Portugal has emerged with Sporting presidential candidate Pedro Madeira Rodrigues came out in the media to announce that a deal have been agreed to sign the defender.
John Terry is currently a free agent and can join any club he want anytime, Villa better act quick on this.
