However, the English footballer has now become West Ham new manager Manuel Pellegrini first summer signing since appointment in May.
Speaking about his new challenge, Fredericks said via BBC: “It’s an exciting time for West Ham, the club have just brought in a new manager and everyone knows his CV and what he has done.”
“It just felt like, for the next step of my career, I would be best suited coming here,” He continued.
The Fulhham star, who could be deployed in the heart of the defence and also at the right flank of the defence, was named in the EFL Championship Team of the Year for 2017/18 after a successive campaign with the Lilywhites.
The new head coach, Pellegrini also added his compliments about the defender, saying: “Ryan has good experience, with more than 150 senior appearances already but, at 25, he is still a young player with his best years ahead of him.”
In his three years spent with the Lilywhites, Ryan Fredericks was able to acquire himself 114 appearances in the Championship, since joining from rivals Bristol City back in August 2015.
