The Duo contract with Blackpool are said to expire this season and will be available for free next month. Due to their impressive performances this season, the duo has attracted interests to now-former League One rivals Wigan and Blackburn as they have moved to Championship football next season.
Robertson, who is a 24-year-old centre back, an academy graduate of Scottish club Aberdeen joined Blackpool back in the summer of 2015. However, ending the season after providing an outstanding performance in the third tier has made a favorite to receive a Scotland call-up, having represented his country in the U-19 and U-21 level.
While, Mellor on the other hand, joined the Seasiders back in 2016 from rival Plymouth Argyle, and helped the struggling team to achieve a promotion to the League One in his first season in charge which automatically sees him as a first team starter in the right-back position.
However, with their contract set to expire this summer, the duo could be on the verge to test their skills in the Championship league next season. And Blackburn and Wigan desperate to strengthen up their defence in order to stand a chance in the second tier next season and both teams could only pray and
hope for no renewal of contract should come for both defenders.
Championship contenders, Bolton Wanderers were reported to be keeping a close on both defenders.
