Liverpool keen on signing Salzburg winger Takumi Minamino

With the hopes of strengthening up their team for the upcoming fixtures in 2020, Premier League giants Liverpool have been reported have set their sights on Red Bull Salzburg’s winger Takumi Minamino in hopes of signing him in the coming January transfer window.

The 24-year-old winger has become one to watch this season having impressed against Liverpool in their two Champions League group stages match this campaign, bagging a goal at Anfield.

The Japan international winger is reported to have a release clause that worth £7.25 million, which has put a high alert on a lot of clubs from Bundesliga, Serie A and the Premier League, which could prove to be quite a competition for Liverpool.

Salzburg has been one of the clubs that have put up quite a challenge in the Champions League with their exciting stars, with Erling Braut Haaland and Hwang Hee-Chan, both of which Minamino has been playing alongside.

Their most memorable match in the Champions League this season will be their match in Anfield, where they went 3-0 down back in October, as the club manager Jesse Marsch changed Minamino’s role to the number 10 role inspiring the team to mount a 3-3 comeback but was denied a point at the end as the Reds’ winger Mohamed Salah found the back of the net once again.

Minamino has been formidable upfront for the Austrian giants this season as he has bagged nine goals and further providing 11 assists in 22 appearances with two goals and 3 assists coming from 6 Champions League campaigns.
